Business Feature
This business feature was written for bmobile. I was commissioned to attend and cover the TecYOUth conference. The percentage of an article or media release that appears in the media is usually a great performance metric to indicate the suitability and quality of the piece. TSTT commissioned me to write articles for their advertorials. These were published every week in the Sunday Express. These articles include news, human interest stories, heavy research and expert advice and other versatile pieces. My article is the feature piece: Broadband in the bush. Marketing and communications is my forte. I write copy for internal and external communications materials such as radio, television, fliers, posters, newsletters and any other promotional/informative channel. Companies hire me to write professional profiles for their executive staff. The profiles are usually used on Annual Reports, Company Profiles and Website’s “About Us”. Call this a shameless plug-in if you wish. I am the Principal Consultant for a marketing and communications firm that I started some years ago. I am also a certified graphic artist. This is a brochure that I wrote the copy for and designed. I usually write copy only for brochures, fliers and other communications materials. Corporate documents are usually requested by sole traders and small to medium-sized companies. Quite often, these businesses are unable to hire a communications professional but are in need of professionally-worded documents. I have found that companies usually request these documents when finances are involved and it is important to get or retain a client. In this sample, Victor Bill Studio hired me to write to a client to inform them of the new service offerings. I blacked out the names to maintain their privacy. Social media content is quickly becoming the most requested service that I am asked to provide. Some people think that because they use social media means that they can write content for a business page. It is a strategic and creative process that requires skill and talent. In this sample, the owner of Time to Wine hired me to handle the content on the Facebook page when the store moved location and expanded its service offering. I wrote this media release for bmobile. It was featured in numerous national newspapers. It is in the form of a business feature article and the newspapers published the media release verbatim. On the odd occasion, I am asked to customise a cover letter page when a client is applying for a job. I have a 100% success rate thus far of securing interviews for these clients.
